Substance Misuse Training Programme Substance Misuse Training Programme

The purpose of the Suffolk DAAT training team is to enable participants to:

  • Increase their knowledge and understanding of drug and alcohol use
  • Reflect on the role of attitudes when working with drug and alcohol use
  • Respond to drug and alcohol use more confidently

Professional Training Programme

The professional training programme is designed to provide a foundation of knowledge for professionals in a variety of fields working with people who misuse substances and their families. This programme offers an opportunity to learn alongside professionals from other fields, and is a complement to any internal training programme offered by individual agencies. Most classes are free of charge and are available across Suffolk.

The Drugs and Alcohol National Occupational Standards (DANOS) outline the levels of competency to which drug and alcohol practitioners should be working. Our courses are mapped to DANOS and support the acquisition of these competencies through the development of knowledge understanding and skills.
